At Build the Pattern, our only goal is to help YOU. We are leveraging the science of habit psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy to provide a customizable app. Each feature will help you improve 1% at a time. You can expect to find daily check-ins, reflections, predictive analysis, your own tool kit, external resources, a 24/7 chat option, and more.

PHILOSOPHY.
Everything we do is about habits. There are cues in our life that trigger our behaviors, all reinforced by a specific consequence. Binge-eating can be looked at through a similar lens. We feel distressed, upset, angry, confused. These uncontrollable feelings cause us to engage in binge-eating, which is all reinforced by the temporary relief we feel. However, what matters more is the long-term consequences of binge eating: self-loathing, isolation, health risks, and an endless cycle. Therefore, how can we change our behaviors? How can we become more aware of our actions? By using our app, we are trying to help you build an entirely new life. More than anything, we are using ideas such as habit substitution and identity formation to help you use other coping mechanisms.
